Heroes from Non-Profit Sector
Newspaper headlines across the country run stories related to social ills and challenges faced by those in mainstream society. Social ills such as poverty, homelessness, and single parent families. However, there are also stories of those individuals and organizations that are making a difference when it comes to eliminating some of these social challenges and barriers to an individual’s success.
These heroes are often found in the non-profit sector of leadership. On today’s show we have one of those heroes, Mrs. Mireidy Carthen who will be joining us to share her story as it relates to leading a non-profit organization. Mireidy Carthen is the Executive Director of The Leaders of Tomorrow Initiative, Inc., a leading national organization that equips the next generation of society’s leaders for life’s possibilities. Prior to joining the LOT team, Mireidy cultivated over a decade of relationships through direct sales and process management for multi-tiered institutions in Academia.
Mireidy holds both a bachelors degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. As Executive Director of the LOT Initiative Inc., she helps to lead the charge as the organization engages thousands of student leaders nationwide and promotes a unified national voice for young adults as they navigate the challenges and opportunities in life.
