This one is habitually overlooked as people begin to become overwhelmed with all that may lay out in front of them. The key is to remain fully present and think through what is currently taking place around you. It doesn’t matter if the appraisal is done from a business or personal perspective, just be real.

It’s time to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard! Don’t limit yourself in this key phase of your strategy. Many people will elect to play it safe and go after goals they know they can reach. Make it a stretch goal or a goal that will require something from you. The idea is to seek change that makes sense in the big picture of what you would like to accomplish.
What Are Your Key Objectives?
Now tie your desired situation back to very clear objectives that reveal what success looks like for you. For example, if you want to have X number of clients by first quarter 2018, then what objectives will support this endeavor. One note..do not confuse this with action steps.
What Are Your Key Performance Indicators for Success?
Key performance indicators reveal your progress and where you may be winning or falling short. These are excellent because they allow us to be reminded that a change needs to happen in order to reach the clearly defined objectives we set in the previous step. Do not take liberties here, develop concrete numbers that can be tracked and bring in outside accountability to make sure you have forward progress.
What Are Specific Action Steps to Get there?
No Muss No Fuss here, it is important to gain momentum in this area and put together key dates and respective goals to show when you have succeeded with your action step. Why? Because when you get to this stage, you are ready for success, you simply need to execute while engaging in self-leadership.
