This Weeks’s Focus Point:
Collaboration holds the proverbial keys for great outcomes. While groups have been thrust together for centuries to rise and fall upon their own individual efforts, true success only comes when individuals begin to break away from the idea that an individual cannot be greater than the sum of the parts of a whole. In other words, organizations that have a heavy premium placed upon collaboration and individuals coming together with “like-minds” and shared purposes help move organizations forward with greater levels of momentum.
Process of Collaboration
The collaboration process is powerful because you have different backgrounds, different experiences and many divergent paths that are coming together to allow greater opportunities for creating richer ideas, values, and goals that have been developed through different circumstances and experiences. All of which creates a greater likelihood of new discoveries that otherwise would not have been uncovered previously.
Collaboration Creates Better Pathways
When you are in a vacuum, the collaboration process cannot be used because you are trying to seek out new ideas and the vacuum environment will limit progress forward. As an added benefit beyond the greater likelihood of success and forward momentum, the collaboration process will allow you to create better pathways to understanding.
When and what was the last collaboration that you were part of and why did it succeed or fail?
