Sometimes our greatest challenges have a way of revealing to us the substance of our character and the potential trajectory of our lives.

Challenge Creates Motivation
During a recent radio show I had the honor of interviewing a young man whose mother struggled to provide for their family. The struggle was so real that on occasion they had to see by candlelight because the electricity had been turned off. Despite these challenges and shortcomings, when it came time to make a choice between feeling sorry for herself and moving forward with a positive mindset, her strength of character never wavered and it buoyed the rest of the family forward to ongoing success.
A Blessing in the Lesson
Why am I sharing this with you today? Well, I have been in enough conversations where the victory had already been lost because of a negative mindset and an inability to move forward due to perceived circumstances. Whether those circumstances were financially related, relationship related or otherwise, there was a common thread that was woven throughout. The inability to see beyond a situation that is perceived as lacking. As I shared, lacking in financial resources, relational depth or organizational fulfillment, all suggest “not having enough.” The ability to discipline your mind to see the potential upside is where the blessing can be found, Why? Because when you understand the struggle is meant for something, you are released to a greater level of optimism that can sustain you until brighter days return.

How to Emerge Victorious
My goal in sharing this with you is to remind you that a lesson can be found in all situations, no matter how dark or painful they turn out to be, but we must train ourselves to look for the blessing of the lesson in order to cope better, react better and ultimately emerge victorious when the storm has passed.
Point of Clarity Quote:
The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.”
