Use These 2 Hacks to Develop Focus That Kills Mediocrity and Welcomes Success!

One of the biggest challenges early on in my business was trying to juggle all of the responsibilities and items that I had to complete on a daily and weekly basis. It was imperative that I remained focused and streamlined my effort, energy and outcomes for the sake of my family, team and my health. I want to share 2 things that have made focus possible for me and will immediately add value to your success path as well.

Segment Your Day

Create a system that segments your days into morning, afternoon and evening activities that support your overall 5 goals for that day (see previous article on 5 daily goals). It does not matter if your activities are e-mail responses, team building, social media campaigns, lead generation, lead follow-up, prospecting or customer relationship management activities.

The more that you develop the discipline to adhere to a segmented activity cycle, the greater your focused productivity arc. While I cannot tell you what activities to place into your particular segments (your comfort level) it would serve you well to try out different scenarios and track your progress! Leverage Technology

We are at a time in our lives that we can leverage technology for tremendous productivity…if used properly. If you’ve had a chance to read some of my other articles, you know I am a big proponent of scheduling out activities for delegation at least 7 days in advance. Some of you may be asking how do I even do that if I am swamped with activity today? Great question! I use software (Plutio) that allows management of projects and scheduling with reminders to help me and my team to stay focused and bring in a sense of accountability.
The use of this particular software allows me to color code activities for each of the segmented times with reminders regarding when the activity should be completed. The cool thing about the entire process is that all team mangers can take advantage of the focus it provides and during our weekly debrief barriers can be addressed together.

Point of Clarity Quote:

“As I get older, the more I stay focused on the acceptance of myself and others, and choose compassion over judgment and curiosity over fear.”
